ISALC: ESL 382: Computer Applications - Fall 1998

Hello!
To introduce myself , I am just going to write a few things about me, but before that, let me tell you that I am very happy to be here with you. As you know my name is Nancy Magallanes and I am from Tijuana, B. C. Mexico. I came to the United States three years ago and spent my four high school years here. I lived in California for the last three years of my life (so far) with my host family. I have to say that I feel more than lucky and thankful to them, because if I hadn't met them, I wouldn't have be here right now.
When I turned fifteen years old, my host family gave me the opportunity to come here to the United States to get an education. I was so happy that at last I was going to do something that I really wanted to do, but my happiness ended when I realized that to do so I had to leave everything, my home, my friends and my dearest father. ( I guess getting an education will pay off for alI the time that I haven't been with my father) Today, I just want to get an education so that I can help the young generation to be outstanding. I want to let them know that there are people who still care very much about them and want them to take advantage of what has been offered to them. I also want to learn many languages and work with the environment all over the world, but before I do any of these things, I have to study very hard in order to become an undergraduate student at Lewis and Clark. These are some of my main goals and the reasons why I am here right now. So I just hope that my dreams of becoming an undergraduate at Lewis & Clark come true.
