Families everywhere share universal values, hopes, and dreams. Let our common humanity be the light that guides us And our coming together in peace be the legacy we leave to our children.
How did Family Photos for Peace begin? I teach an online course that puts me in touch with teachers around the world. Participants in the course often send me photos of themselves and their families. As I looked into the eyes of those family members, I saw myself and my family; indeed I saw the human family. In a world that is too often divided and confrontational, the family photos stand for what is possible: a focus on what unites us, not what divides us, in order that we may come together to work for a world that we will be proud to pass on to our children. What are the objectives of this project? To display family photos from around the world for everyone to appreciate To earn money for UNICEF or other organizations working to benefit society Note: A contribution will be made for you when you send in your photo. What can I do to participate? 1) Submit your family photos in any of the following ways: Email your photo as an attachment to krauss@lclark.edu OR Send a traditional paper-based photo by mail to Michael Krauss, Academic English Studies, Lewis & Clark College, 0615 S.W. Palatine Hill Road, MSC 125, Portland, OR 97219, USA OR Type the Web address where your photo is located in the box below and click "Submit." Note: You do not need to identify yourself and there will be no identification of the photos on the site. 2) For each photo received, a $5 contribution will be made for you to UNICEF. Do not send any money to Family Photos for Peace. If you would like to make an additional contribution to UNICEF, you can do so online. Or you can send a contribution to Children First Internet Donation, UNICEF, 3 UN Plaza, New York, NY 10017, USA. Or of course, feel free to contribute to any other organization you choose. Again, you do not need to make a contribution in order to have your photo posted. 3) You are encouraged to post your comments about this project and its vision by signing the "Guestbook" below. Also please use the "Tell a friend" link below to spread the word about this site. That's it. Very simple. Photos of families that represent our common humanity, one family at a time. Thanks for your participation. Michael Krauss
