GoEnglish.com Idiom Dictionary - When you get to this Web site, scroll down to see a list of words. Click on them to see English idioms that use them. Then click on the idiom and you often will get a longer explanation and sometimes pictures to help you understand the meaning of the idiom. LITTLE EXPLORERS Picture Dictionary (EnchantedLearning.com) - This is a great picture dictionary + more! At the top of the page, click on a letter of the alphabet and you will see a page of pictures which begin with that letter. Many of the pictures are links so you can learn more about that word. You can learn a lot of English and also a lot of useful information with this great dictionary!

Want to do some research using the Picture Dictionary? Find the link, "Click here for classroom activities that use Little Explorers." You will find questions that you can answer by using the Picture Dictionary. After you search, click here to check your answers. Have fun!

Very quick and easy to use with instant checking of answers. Slang (PEAK English) - You can see the "Slang of the Day" - with definition, example, explanation *and* you can hear the slang spoken in a real context. There is also a "Slang Dictionary" (very complete). You can Email your questions about slang to the "experts." Finally, you can join a mailing list and get a slang cartoon sent to your EMail each day. Slang is an important part of English and you won't learn it from your textbooks, so this is a very useful site!

Study Zone (English Language Center, University of Victoria) For Level 100 students: Martin Holmes provides about 100 pictures and asks the learner to choose the correct name for the picture from a list of words. Useful categories such as furniture, clothes, school and office, home appliances.
