ACTIVITY TITLE: AMBASSADOR FOR A DAY!


SUBJECT AREAS: Latin America, Letter Writing, Creating a monologue


YOUR INVESTIGATION:

Someone has kidnapped the ambassador from one of the Latin American countries and you have been picked to impersonate the ambassador until he/she is found. No one must find out that the ambassador is missing or it will mean chaos and upheaval in that country.

From the main page of your site, select several of the embassies to browse and see which one you prefer to be the home of the missing ambassador. Study the details about the country you have selected and prepare a speech to give to your fellow countrymen, assuring them that all is well. Remember, you've got to convince them that you are the ambassador by dazzling them with your knowledge of their country.

Write a business letter to the embassy of your adopted country and ask them to send you printed material about the country.
