ACTIVITY TITLE: LET YOUR FINGERS DO THE WALKING


SUBJECT AREA: Social Studies, Writing, Geography


YOUR INVESTIGATION:


As the brilliant, young assistant to a Washington bigwig, your exceptional qualities have been noted by the President and she has asked that you serve as an ambassador to a foreign country.
You are determined to find out all you can about your choices by getting all the information you can about them.
Write to embassies for details about their country. After you receive the info in the mail, make your decision as to which one you wish to be the ambassador to. Share your decision-making process with the class.


QUESTIONS TO GUIDE YOU:

1. Where are these embassies located? Why?
   
2. Locate the countries you have chosen on a map. Is their location an important factor in your decision? Why?
   
3. What advantages would these countries provide to the US?
   
4. What is the political climate there now?
   
5. What kind of a government structure do they have?
   
6. How stable is their economy?
