The
second annual Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference was held on Saturday, March 31st, 2007 on the campus of
Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. The conference was designed
specifically for undergraduates who are majoring or have an interest in
mathematics.
This year's conference boasted 170 participants. Based on the feedback received by the organizers, the highlights of this one-day conference included the 28 student presentations AND the two fantastic addresses by animation professionals Dylan Kohler (Electronic Arts) and Don Schmidt and Josh Schpok (Dreamworks Animation). The student participants also appreciated the pertinent information provided in the panel discussions on graduate programs and careers in mathematics.
