Welcome to the Home Page for the Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference The 3rd Annual Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference was held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 on the campus of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.
PCUMC is designed specifically for undergraduate students who are majoring or have an interest in mathematics. The 2008 conference will feature free registration for all participants, talks by undergraduate students, and panel discussions on career and summer research opportunities in mathematics. Highlights of this year's conference included 30 fantastic student talks and an engaging keynote address by MAA President Joe Gallian. Thank you to Joe and to all of our student speakers for making this conference an enjoyable experience for all of the participants!And thank you to all of our participants, speakers, panelists and sponsors!If you are a conference participant who took photos of any conference events, especially of student presentations, please share them with us by email to the conference organizers.REGISTER HERE for the conference. The deadline for pre-registration has passed. You can still register for the conference! However, free lunch is not guaranteed for participants who register after the deadline. Lunch will be available for purchase by participants who did not pre-register. All other conference events will be open to all registered participants. Travel Support for Students: PCUMC 2008 is supported by a grant from the National Security Agency, making travel support available for student speakers (up to $250) and student participants (up to $150). To request travel support from PCUMC, please submit your registration form online, and indicate in question #12 that you are requesting travel support. To complete the application for travel support, you will also need to provide (1) an estimated budget of your travel expenses, including airfare, ground transportation, lodging, and support from your home institution, and (2) a letter from your academic advisor or department chair explaining that your institution cannot cover all of your travel expenses. Please be aware that travel support for students is limited and priority will be given to student speakers. The deadline to apply for travel support has passed.
