    • Minimum 2 trips with College Outdoors in the specific activity

    • Understanding of CO system logistics including the gear checkout database, trip files, missed PTM notices, and location of equipment at Sequoia
    • Driver clearance
    • Clear understanding of responsibilities of an Assistant Leader
    • WFR required
  • Pull trip file, make sure forms complete before or @PTM (meds, releases, PTRs…) trip file from office à PTM à trip
  • Filling out & mailing missed PTM notices
  • Help TL pull group gear

  • Post-trip care of personal equipment
  • Growing from critical feedback given by TL
  • Limited leading opportunities in the field @ leaders discretion
  • Coaching the coordinator in the interest of developing own skills with feedback and CRs skills with leadership
  • In certain rare instances, the AL may be paid when their responsibilities expand outside of those listed here, at the discretion of the program director.
  • May consider pursuing summer job in the outdoor industry (see College Outdoors' Job Resource Center) to gain field experience.
