Annual Conference 2003
October 16-18, 2003
Vancouver, B.C.

Dear PNWPSA Colleague:
This is the first announcement for the 2003 Pacific Northwest Political Science Association Conference, which is scheduled for October 16-18 in Vancouver, B.C. at The Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites.

The deadline for submitting a paper proposal is August 15, 2003. Panel participants must also pre-register for the conference by the August deadline in order for their names to appear in the program. Please send proposals and offers to be a discussant directly to the section chair of the panel on the Call For Papers that best fits your interest. Panelists may bring extra copies of conference papers. A table will be set up for display.

We urge you to stay at The Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites where we have a contractual arrangement for a set number of rooms. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-663-1144. Rates are as follows: $119 single/double for standard rooms, $149 single/double for one-bedroom suites. Rates are quoted in Canadian funds and subject to local taxes. Remember to identify yourself as a PNWPSA participant. Rates are guaranteed for participants until September 15.

Registration and a welcome reception begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Download registration form in Adobe Acrobat format. The program panels will be scheduled for all day Friday and Saturday until approximately Noon. A general business meeting for the association members will be held on Saturday morning with a continental breakfast. At this meeting, there will be an election of officers. Two members of the Executive Council will be elected for two-year terms. A President Elect will also be chosen. Nominations for these positions will be solicited from the entire membership. You may e-mail nominations to nilsdoug@isu.edu. The Executive Council will then forward names in nomination with its own recommendations for a vote at the Saturday general membership meeting. As usual, nominations will be accepted from the floor.

We look forward to seeing you at our 2003 conference of Northwest political scientists.

Sincerely,
Doug Nilson
PNWPSA President, 2002-03
