The 56th meeting of the Pacific Northwest Political Science Association will be in Portland at the grand old Benson Hotel November 4-6, 2004. The November election - the battle for the White House, Congress, recalls and/or ballot measures will provide an exciting backdrop for the conference.
The deadline for submitting a paper proposal is September 1, 2004. Panel participants must also pre-register for the conference by the September deadline in order for their names to appear in the program. To download a registration form, click here.
We urge you to stay at the Benson Hotel as we have a contractual arrangement for a set number of their rooms. Call 1-800-426-0670 or 503-228-2000 to make your reservation, and identify yourself as a PNWPSA participant. The room rate is $99 for a single or double deluxe room. Rates are guaranteed for participants until October 3, 2004, with no penalty for cancellation up to 24 hours before the event.
As usual, we will have our informative and entertaining Election Postmortem dinner, which brings together scholars, operatives, pundits, and players from around our region for engaging conversation, electoral analysis, and a bit of gossip. Please make plans to enjoy this valuable tradition.
Finally, note the pre-registration form enclosed. It will help immensely if you get your registration in early. Do not hesitate to contact me or Nancy Curran if you have suggestions or questions
