The Global Reach of Foreign Military Bases

Using Google Earth technology, researches from the Transnational Institute have mapped the locations of more than 800 foreign military bases. Visit the Transnational Institute military and security page and view their work: you can see the world-wide distribution of foreign military bases from outer space and then zoom in for a closer look at key bases--for example, the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba and the many U.S. bases on Okinawa in Japan.
