The Global Reach of Foreign Military Bases
Using Google Earth technology, researches from the Transnational
Institute have mapped the locations of more than 800 foreign military
bases. Visit the Transnational
Institute military and security page and view their work: you
can see the world-wide distribution of foreign military bases from
outer space and then zoom in for a closer look at key bases--for
example, the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba and the many U.S.
bases on Okinawa in Japan. [You must have Google
Earth on your computer.]
