The Gift of Fir Acres
Long before Fir Acres Estate became Lewis & Clark College, it was home to Lloyd and Edna Frank along with their children, Frederick, Dorothy and Margery.

Their stories are inextricably linked to the College. It was Lloyd whose artistic sensibilities and demand for quality created Lewis & Clark's beautiful campus. It was Aaron who found a downtown home for Albany College during the College's difficult transition and whose generosity, disguised as a sale but in reality an extraordinary gift, made it possible for Albany College to move to Fir Acres Estate. Without the Franks, it is doubtful Lewis & Clark would exist at all, let alone as the College we know today.

To acknowledge at long last the gift of the Franks, the College proudly celebrates the dedication of the Frank Manor House.
