Using FileMaker Pro
This class provides an introduction and overview for working with an existing FileMaker Pro database. Topics include adding and modifying records, finding information and sorting the database.
FileMaker Pro Databases (3-part)
Day 1: This session covers the basics of database design. You'll learn
how to develop a database from scratch, create different types of fields for
data entry, and create relationships and links between files.
Day 2: Layouts and reports allow you to organize, manipulate and report out your data. This session will focus on using the screen design tools in FileMaker to create data entry forms and other type of reports.
Day 3: This session will focus on how and when to use related data to
create more powerful reports and layouts. Advanced layout topics such as
adding buttons for automation and printing controls will be discussed as
well.

This class is an introduction to this Photoshop spin-off. Elements, a scaled-down version of Photoshop, is aimed at digital photographers and non-professional Web designers. Learn how to work with digital pictures for the Web or print.
Intro to Photoshop
Learn to use the most popular image editing software package on the market today, Adobe Photoshop. This class covers basic tools and techniques. This is the primary tool used for Web graphics creation.
Trillium
Learn to use the college's content management system, Trillium. Creating or updating department pages? Need a faculty web page? Trillium makes publishing to the web simple and requires no HTML or special software.
Advanced Trillium
Now that you know the basics, learn how to enhance your Trillium Web pages.WebDisk Basics
Where should I keep my data files? Can I access them from off-campus? Can I easily share documents with others? If you've asked yourself any of these questions, then WebDisk, L&C's web-based storage solution, may be the answer for you. This class will teach you the basics of using WebDisk to store and share files.
MeetingMaker
This class is designed to help faculty and staff learn to use Meeting Maker. Learn about calendar views, adding new activities and meetings, private vs. public activities, sharing your calendar with others, and more.
InDesign (3-part)
Go beyond your word processor into the world of page layout. If you are creating a newsletter, guide, program, or flier (just a few examples), you'll definately want to explore the world of Adobe InDesign. These hands-on sessions use a simple newsletter project in order to help you explore a variety of InDesign skills. If you are a PageMaker user, this may be a class for you since PageMaker is no longer supported by Adobe.
Creating Forms in Adobe Acrobat
Learn how to use Adobe Acrobat to create forms, add security and combine PDF files together. Make your PDF (Portable Document Format) more than just a "read-only" document.
Scanning
Scanned images make excellent additions to your Web pages, presentations or papers. This session takes you through the basics of scanning photos and slides.
Beginning PowerPoint (2-part)
PowerPoint is a presentation creation program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. It is rapidly gaining in popularity on the LC campus and has long been a favorite tool in the business world. This hands-on class presents the basic information necessary to create your own presentations for screen or print. General topics covered include:- basic PowerPoint environment and tools

- using graphics
This is a beginner's class.
Navigating Moodle for Students
If you haven’t used Moodle before or still feel a bit confused after logging in, this is the class for you! After a general orientation we’ll show you how to update your profile including uploading that perfect self-portrait for your avatar. (Hint: the same way you’ll upload papers for assignments.)
Working with PDFs
In this class we’ll cover the basics of working with PDFs in Acrobat 8 Professional. Learn how to combine PDFs together, perform minor edits and add headers, footers and watermarks. We’ll also cover adding security to your PDF documents and useful utilities such as the Typewriter tool.
Creating PDF Forms with Adobe Acrobat
PDFs are ideally suited for distributing forms, however, increasingly people are no longer satisfied with simply printing out and completing PDF forms manually. In this class you’ll learn how to use Acrobat 8 Professional to design forms that can be completed electronically and printed or saved and emailed with the free Reader 8 program as well as Acrobat.
Publishing a Home Page with Dreamweaver (3-part)
Day 1: Planning and Basic HTML: Before creating your website, some planning must take place. This topic will be explored as you begin plans for your website. Then learn the basics of HTML .
Day 2: Assembling the content and using Photoshop Elements: Gathering the necessary content (text and graphics) for your pages is the next step. Then, you’ll get an introduction to using Photoshop Elements as the primary tool we use to prepare images for the web.
Day 3: Dreamweaver: Finally, you’ll learn how to make the webpage creation process easier by using Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is the primary tool we use to combine content into individual “pages” and make them live on the internet.
