      Jack Alley BS ’86 and Bruce Withycombe BA ’86 attended an outdoor presentation in anticipation of the rededication and grand opening of the Brigadier General James B. Thayer Oregon Military Museum, located at Camp Withycombe, in Clackamas, Oregon.

      Christopher Andreas BA ’86, Tracy Bosworth-Bosche ’86, and Dean Shyshlak BS ’86 recently got together for dinner at Andreas’ brother’s bar (the Boom Boom Room) in San Francisco. Andreas let us know they are all doing well; had a great time; and are in good health and high spirits.

      Jeffrey Comer BS ’86 penned a novel about a young engineer who finds his sense of reality shattered as he moves between alternate versions of his life, each one seemingly as real as the others—and each including the same woman.

      Was sworn in as a municipal judge for Woodburn, Oregon, after serving as the city’s judge pro tem for the past few years. Coukoulis is the first new Woodburn municipal judge in 35 years.

      Bob Hogfoss JD ’86 has joined Troutman Sanders LLP in Atlanta, Georgia, as a partner. Previously with Hunton & Williams LLP, Hogfoss represents pipeline owners and operators throughout the United States on a wide range of issues involving pipeline development, operation, safety, and environmental compliance. He provides leading-edge advice and counsel on many of the most challenging pipeline matters unfolding in the country.

      Opened a new firm, Hill & Lamb, in Portland. Lamb’s practice focuses on litigation and appellate work in state and federal courts with an emphasis on complex litigation, including insurance coverage disputes, construction defect, environmental, business, and defense of professionals.

      Tony Robinson BA ’86 is the chair of the political science department of the University of Colorado at Denver. He enjoys leading the study abroad trip to South Korea.

      LeAnne Schrotzberger BA ’86 lives in West Linn, Oregon, with her husband and quite a few dogs and cats. As a newly adjusting empty-nester, she’s busy converting a former bedroom into a workout room as she realizes those kids aren’t just going to come back whenever she wants. She works in global corporate communications at Plantronics, where she is happily using her Lewis & Clark degree that is 30+ years old. In her spare time, Schrotzberger knits; experiments in the kitchen; and trains for and competes in distance triathlons.

      Leanne Schrotzberger BA ’86 told her memorable story of overcoming setbacks to FOX 12’s MORE Sports last fall. After setting her sights on the Ironman competition in 2006, Schrotzberger was severely injured in a car accident, fracturing her hip. Doctors were unsure if she would be able to fully recover, let alone compete. But a decade later, she has completed her fifth Ironman and continues to race in memory of her parents and father-in-law, whom she says encouraged her to compete in the first place.

      Ben Scully BA ’86 completed the North Pole Marathon in seven hours and 25 minutes on April 16, 2018. The air temperature was -33 Celsius, or -27 Fahrenheit. He was part of a 12-member team sponsored by FWD, a Hong Kong-based life insurer. The team raised more than $10,000 for a charity called Humanity and Inclusion. Scully is now thinking about the Antarctica Marathon.

      Anne-Seymour St. John BA ’86 writes to say that she and her classmates from the 1984 overseas study program in Greece are still in monthly contact. Thirty-four years later, St. John met with her roommate from that program, Jane Loesner, and friend Amy Brooks BS ’84 in Oaxaca, Mexico, for a week of intensive language classes, photography, and roommate life.

      Eric Warner BA ’86 is cofounder and head brewmaster for Karbach Brewing in Houston. Warner spoke extensively to Texas Monthly about Karbach’s recent acquisition by Anheuser-Busch. “Judge us on the quality of the beer,” said Warner.

      Traded his galoshes and umbrella for cowboy boots and sunglasses by moving to central Washington after accepting a position as the city attorney of Ellensburg.

      Bruce Withycombe BA ’86 opened his fourth Mathnasium Math Learning Center in Northeast Portland in summer 2017. He has three others located in Lake Oswego, Raleigh Hills, and West Linn. Withycombe has also been busy playing baritone saxophone on two records: one with the afrobeat band Jujuba (jujuba.org) on Lefse Records, and the other with Ural Thomas & The Pain (uralthomasandthepain.com) on the Tender Loving Empire label. Both will be released in fall 2018.

      Grace L. Pan JD ’92 joined the New York City office of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton as a partner on the firm’s internationally recognized patent litigation team. Pan is a patent litigator and counselor representing clients from the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and China. She is experienced in enforcing and defending patents, trademarks, and trade dress before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, International Trade Commission, various U.S. district courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in manufacturing, medical equipment, biotechnology, organic chemistry, electronic, semiconductor, mechanical, and related technical fields.
