      Announced the formation of Cartwright Whitman Baer, formerly Cartwright & Associates. The new firm will continue to provide legal services for individuals and professionals in the areas of estate, trust, and elder financial abuse litigation; estate and trust administration; and protective proceedings and appeals.

      Mara Carnahan BA ’92 lives in Anchorage, Alaska, with her husband, Patrick, and sons Finn and Adler. They enjoy adventuring in the wilderness that surrounds their city.

      Lisa Cianciulli BA ’92 lives in Rome with her husband and their 11-year-old son, Luca. She teaches English privately, as well as in a junior high school, and she offers translation services to multinational companies. She and her family have spent most of their time in and about Italy, traveling on vacation to Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Campania, and Puglia. A few years back, they visited Strasbourg, France, where Cianciulli had studied abroad as a Lewis & Clark student. She enjoyed showing her family around the beautiful city.

      Gustav BA ’92, who got his start at Lewis & Clark’s KLC radio station, became a well-known Portland radio personality due to the 1990s program Gustav and Daria. Now he is rejoining Reed graduate Daria Eliuk on a new program called Alternative Afternoons With Daria and Gustav. The show airs on 94.7 KNRK from 2 to 7 p.m. on weekdays.

      Opened her own law practice, the Dumas Law Group, with associate attorney Ashley L. Vaughn. They will continue to represent victims of child sexual abuse, both adults and children, in cases against perpetrators and institutions. The new firm will also continue to represent small businesses and individuals with civil lawsuits, employment claims, real estate matters, and other business disputes, and has the flexibility to handle certain personal injury and professional malpractice claims.

      Was elected to the board of the Cascade Policy Institute. Dumas is a partner with O’Donnell Clark & Crew and has substantial experience in commercial, real estate, and tort litigation.

      Chuck Dunn BA ’92, a professor and chair of math at Linfield College, was a one-day champion on the game show Jeopardy last November. On a different note, he traveled to Beijing, China, with the Rose City Trombones, representing the United States at the 18th annual Beijing Tourism Festival.

      Was named president and chief operating officer of Black Hills Corporation. Evans served as president and chief operating officer of utilities for the company since 2003. In that position, he led the company’s electric and natural gas utilities, power generation, and coal mining businesses. Evans’ new role encompasses all of the company’s business segments, including the early 2016 addition of the oil and gas exploration and production subsidiary and the utility properties of SourceGas.

      Ruthe Farmer BA ’92 gave a talk titled Computer Science for All at a TEDx conference in winter 2017. Farmer has been working for diversity and inclusion in the tech and engineering world for many years. She is responsible for the creation and subsequent scaling up of multiple national programs such as LEGO Robotics for Girl Scouts, NCWIT Aspirations in Computing, and the AspireIT computing outreach program, among others.

      Edgard Garcia BA ’92 is celebrating 31+ years of overseas living—in the United States (he is originally from Nicaragua). As a Spanish translator at SAIF, he teaches and creates strategic communication for employers and workers in Oregon. Garcia is also a member of the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Latino Leadership Class X. He reports that he enjoys raising a future Pioneer for the class of 2029.

      Was named port manager of the Port of Siuslaw. Leskin had spent 23 years as an attorney and municipal judge in Oregon before accepting this position.

      Filed to run for Clatsop County circuit court judge in the May election to replace Judge Philip Nelson, who will retire this year. McIntosh, who works for McIntosh and Long in Gearhart, Oregon, primarily handles domestic relations, juvenile, and criminal cases in Clatsop and Tillamook Counties.

      Scott McPherson BS ’92 is senior vice president of business operations and development at Core-Mark, a supplier of merchandise to the convenience retail industry. McPherson has worked for Core-Mark since soon after graduation, starting his climb up the ladder as a salesman.

      Jilma Meneses JD ’92 was named chief executive officer of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, effective July 1, 2017. Meneses had been serving as the chief operating officer and chief general counsel for Concordia University in Portland. Previously, she was dean of Concordia’s law school.

      Rene Ormae-Jarmer BA ’92 is the founder and instructor of the Rex Putnam High School Kingsmen Thunder Drumline in Milwaukie, Oregon. Drumline is a competitive sport involving coordinated acting, drumming, storytelling, and marching. To help finance the competitive season, Ormae-Jarmer has launched a GoFundMe online giving campaign.

      Joined the San Francisco office of Hanson Bridgett as a partner. Pujari has practiced environmental and criminal law for more than 20 years, handling complex matters in federal and state court. She is also an expert in regulatory and administrative forums, having worked as an enforcement attorney for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., and represented companies in administrative enforcement and penalty actions. Prior to joining the private sector, Pujari was a senior assistant district attorney in the Special Prosecutions Division of the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of California. In both offices, she investigated and prosecuted environmental crimes and as well as white-collar crimes such as fraud, bribery, false statements, and obstruction of justice.
