      Joey Alsberge BA ’07 is currently a fellow in vitreoretinal surgery at West Coast Retina/California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He says he still enjoys playing the guitar.

      Erika Arnold BA ’07, a software engineer at New Relic in Portland, was featured in an Oregonian story about women in technology. After earning a PhD in biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Arnold decided to shift gears and complete an intensive coding course in San Francisco. Soon after, she returned to Portland to work at New Relic.

      Sara Bagheri JD ’07 was elected to the city council of Denton, Texas. Bagheri has worked in community affairs since she returned to Denton in 2009 to practice law. She helped launch the popular Denton Community Market in 2010 as a founding board member and an attorney for the nonprofit group. Bagheri also served on the city’s Human Services Advisory Council from 2011 to 2013, was a member of the ad hoc committee that made recommendations in 2012 for the city’s smoking ban, and served as a commissioner on the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2015 until her election to the city council.

      Andrew Barnes BA ’07 completed his MBA in logistics and supply chain management from the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in December 2017.

      Jennifer Bragar JD ’07 was promoted to owner in the Portland office of Garvey Schubert Barer. Bragar’s practice focuses on land use, real estate, municipal, and environmental law. She has been involved in several significant cases throughout Oregon, including hazardous waste cleanup actions and land use advocacy on behalf of private landowners. She regularly assists as special counsel and general counsel to multiple cities across the state.

      Andrew Conner BA ’07 and Erin Conner BA ’07 have been living in Menlo Park, California, for the past five years. Andrew received his doctorate in physical therapy last spring from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland and is currently working at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Erin is finishing her dual medical residency in pediatrics and anesthesiology at Stanford and will be starting a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in September 2018. The couple welcomed their son, Elliot, in March 2017. They look forward to moving back to Portland.

      Joe Franco JD ’07 was named a 2016 Rising Star by Oregon Super Lawyers magazine. Franco is a trial lawyer with Markowitz Herbold, a boutique business litigation firm headquartered in Portland.

      To Craig Gilden BA ’07 and Alyssa Gilden, daughter Shayna, October 2017. Their son, Joey, has been quite sweet welcoming his baby sister home, and they are all adjusting to their lives in Austin, Texas, as a new family of four.

      Susan W. Graf JD ’07 was named a partner by Klarquist Sparkman. Graf, who holds a Ph.D. in cell biology from Duke University, specializes in biotechnical and medical patent applications, with a focus on the preparation and prosecution of U.S., international, and foreign patent applications. She has extensive research experience in the fields of cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics, including clinical diagnostics. Graf also prepares legal opinions, including patentability, invalidity, infringement/noninfringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions, and prepares and prosecutes trademark applications.

      John Grant JD ’07 joined Fisher & Phillips LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, as program manager of Fisher Focus, a practice innovation initiative emphasizing legal project management, process improvement, and technology adoption. In his new role, Grant works with the firm’s lawyers and managers to drive efficiency through a focus on customer value, data-driven decision-making, and a cycle of continuous improvement. Grant is a former intellectual property litigator and a fourth-generation attorney who spent eight years in the software industry before earning his JD.

      Luke Henderson BA ’07 has worked in the wine industry for almost 10 years and currently manages the production operations at Siduri Wines in Santa Rosa, California. His winery was spared from the horrible wildfires that ravaged Northern California, but just barely. Many of the iconic images in the news were from areas only a couple of blocks away. He says “it’s going to take a long time to rebuild our area, but our community is stronger than ever and committed to reclaiming what was lost.” Henderson encourages alumni and legal-age students to hit him up (luke@siduri.com) for a tour of their production facility and a wine tasting.

      Peter Janci JD ’07 became a partner at O’Donnell, Clark & Crew. Janci has been with the firm since 2007. His practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in child sexual abuse, malpractice, wrongful death, and business tort cases.

      Robyn Knowlan BA ’07 started Wonder, a 100-percent organic, cold-pressed juice and nut milk shop in 2013; moved it to downtown Boulder, Colorado, in 2015; became CEO in 2017; and is opening two additional locations in 2018. Last summer, she somehow still found time to get engaged.

      Blerina Kotori JD ’07 was elected to partnership with Tonkon Torp. Kotori is a member of the firm’s labor and employment and information privacy and security practice groups. She was named a 2015 Rising Star in the employment and labor category by Oregon Super Lawyers magazine.

      Emily Kroman BA ’07 lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington, with her husband, Justin, and sons, Theo (age 3) and Max (born in August 2017). She supervises behavioral therapy programs for children with autism as a board-certified behavior analyst, a career she initially pursued thanks to the mentorship of Brooke Ingersoll, visiting assistant professor of psychology at Lewis & Clark from 2005 to 2007.

      Danielle Krushnic BA ’07 has lived in New York City for the last five years. After earning her master’s degree in public health from Hunter College, she is now a program manager of youth initiatives at the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America, which provides HIV prevention and sexual health education programming and training to NYC residents.

      Ryan Lockard BA ’07 runs Specialty Athletic Training, which serves clients with special needs. Four years after its founding, his business serves clients of all ages in Portland and Vancouver. Lockard also teaches a special needs physical education course in Northeast Portland.

      Matt Masciocchi BA ’07 is pursuing a master’s degree in sports product management from the University of Oregon at Portland. Last summer, he headed to Vietnam to intern at a Nike footwear factory to help improve their sustainability practices.

      Eric Meltzer JD ’07 joined Lane Powell as director of strategy and pricing. Meltzer will develop client service initiatives as well as handle project management and process improvement. Previously, he was director of legal services for RGP, a publicly traded global management consulting firm. Meltzer also has experience as a commercial and intellectual property attorney representing startups, nonprofits, and corporations in regard to a wide range of transactional and litigation matters.

      Cailin O’Brien-Feeney BA ’07 has been named director of the State of Oregon’s newly created Office of Outdoor Recreation, a branch of Oregon’s Parks and Recreation Department. In his new position, O’Brien-Feeney leads a small team to promote legislation that improves public access to outdoor recreation. In addition to collaborating with tourism groups and organizations already working in the outdoor recreation industry, his team provides resources to land managers about how best to balance development and preservation of Oregon’s unique natural resources.

      Yoona Park JD ’07 became a shareholder in the litigation group at Stolle Berne, having joined the firm in 2007. She concentrates on complex business litigation, securities law, employment class actions, and employment litigation. Park was named in the 2017 issue of Best Lawyers in America. She was also recognized in Benchmark Litigation as an Oregon Future Star in 2015 and in Oregon Super Lawyers as a Rising Star 2009–2013 in the Business Litigation and Employment Litigation categories. Outside of the office, she writes a blog (Yoonanimous), practices yoga, and enjoys Korean barbecue with husband Tom and sons Finn and Tate.

      Stefan Shearer BA ’07 got married in May 2017. He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Southeast Portland. For the past two years, he’s been a health care analyst at CareOregon, working on clinical quality improvement and health system transformation projects. On a side note, Ho’onani Andermann Pestana BA ’07 recently joined his CareOregon team.

      Jeanne Sinnott JD ’07 was elected president of the Multnomah Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Section for 2014-2015. Sinnott is a partner at Miller Nash and practices in the areas of debtor-creditor law, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy.

      Claire Smallwood BA ’07 is executive director and cofounder of SheJumps, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities. She’s been running the organization while also working as a private chef for the past 10 years but transitioned to full time at the nonprofit’s helm in summer 2018. Smallwood was named one of the “10 Women to Watch” by the Outdoor Industry Association in 2017. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing and travels annually to South America for endless winters. She currently lives in Salt Lake City but is in the process of moving to Fernie, B.C., with her partner, Spencer.

      Durban Swartz BA ’07 has been working at Education First for the last four years as a global education consultant. She works with high school and middle school teachers to set up international travel programs for their students. She is happily married and has a baby boy named Wakely James. In summer 2017, her dear friend Dain Kurita BA ’07 returned stateside from Thailand for a visit and came to Colorado with Phoebe Adams BA ’07 and John Doherty BA ’07 and their adorable baby boy, Jude, to visit Rebecca Engel BA ’07, Corinne Doctor BA ’07, and Garrison Doctor BA ’06, and her hubby.
