A clean text file or files containing live general class notes, marriage or union notes, birth or adoption notes, and in memoriam notes submitted during a specified submission date range, as well as class correspondent entries. Notes should be sorted first by type (general class notes, marriage or union notes, birth or adoption notes, in memoriam notes), then by class year within type, and finally by last name within class year. Class correspondent entries should appear at top of the matching class year’s listing of general class notes. Italic treatments within blurb and profile text need to be preserved.

  • Colleen Scott JD ’08 was made a partner at Hart Wagner LLP. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm’s medical malpractice defense team in Portland. Scott focuses on medical malpractice defense, specializing in birth injury claims, and on representing medical professionals before their licensing boards.

  • Joined the Center for American Progress as deputy director for public lands. Thakar previously worked at Perkins Coie representing power marketers, independent power producers, electric and gas utilities, hydroelectric licensees, and onshore and offshore oil and gas companies. She has experience in the permitting of renewable energy projects and has advised clients on the National Environmental Policy Act, wildlife protection laws, and hydraulic fracturing and greenhouse gas reporting rules.

  • Was appointed to a three-year term on the Washington State Supreme Court Gender and Justice Commission, the mission of which is to provide a leadership role in eliminating gender discrimination and bias in the state’s legal system. Amburgey-Richardson, who is celebrating her fourth year with the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs, works on justice issues and the confidentiality and privacy rights of sexual assault survivors. As program coordinator, she primarily focuses on the issue, of sexual violence in detention settings.

Having spent the past three years working with a family and bankruptcy practice in Gresham, he is aware of the issues facing east county residents.

  • Relocated from Portland to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico in December 2015. Black remains an attorney for the U.S. Department of Energy, now representing the Southwestern Power Administration based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In January 2016, she was also elected to the board of directors for Drum Corps International, a youth arts and education nonprofit based in Indianapolis.

Previously, Salim served as senior attorney at Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services and as a staff attorney at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Environmental Law Clinic. For the past five years, Salim has shared his expertise as an adjunct professor by teaching Lewis & Clark’s two-week summer seminar on oil and gas law, and energy law and regulation at the University of Pittsburgh.

Buker’s article “On Art Attacks: At the Confluence of Shock, Appropriation, and Law” is forthcoming in the Review of Intellectual Property Law in 2015. Buker was also elected as a vice-chair of the board for Washington Lawyers for the Arts.
