You have chosen to copy and paste your messages and folders manually using a desktop client such as Thunderbird. This is recommended for people with over 2GB of email, or particularly complicated folder structures.

Please download the helpsheet we have created to walk you through the process from start to finish.  Be sure to complete the migration process by reading the rest of this page and clicking the button to continue on and create your Google account.

If you previously set up a gmail or google account using your @lclark.edu email as your login, you will be prompted to change the name of that account, as
it is not properly a part of the Lewis & Clark domain.

After you make the switch

  • You will access your LCmail through lcmail.lclark.edu instead of through webmail.lclark.edu.  Update your bookmarks accordingly.
  • You will have to change your account settings on your desktop client, such as Thunderbird as well as your mobile devices once you have made the switch.  The helpsheet for manual migration outlines this process in Thunderbird thoroughly.
  • You will have access to your saved email and address books through webmail through May 7th, but will not receive any new messages there.  You should not send email through the webmail interface, nor change any of your settings once you have requested your LCmail account.  Think of it as an
archive rather than an active email account.
  • You can switch between multiple accounts through the LCmail web interface at lcmail.lclark.edu, including with personal Gmail accounts.  To do this, follow the instructions on our helpsheet, or watch the screencast.

By clicking the button below, you agree that you have read and understand the information presented above, and are ready to migrate your account.

Wait! I think I need help with this!
