On April 1st, 2024 Information Technology will be changing the College’s voicemail retention practices in order to reduce storage utilization and the number of full voicemail inboxes. These changes will impact voicemail messages delivered both to your voicemail inbox, as well as your LC email inbox. Moving forward, voicemails will be automatically archived and deleted on a regular schedule. Please read our article to learn more about this change.
All voicemail messages older than 90 days will be permanently deleted from your LC email inbox and voicemail inbox on April 1st, 2024. If you have voicemail messages that you would like to save, please download locally or to another storage location prior to this date.
Starting this spring, IT will integrate Single Sign On (SSO) and Zoom. This process will also automatically provision Zoom licenses to Lewis & Clark accounts logging into Zoom for the first time. Staff and faculty employees will get Pro Zoom licenses, students will receive basic licenses with the option to request a Pro license.

Freshservice by Freshworks is a modern service management platform aimed at streamlining and enhancing how we handle technical requests and IT support inquiries on campus. In the coming days you will begin seeing Freshservice emails from ITService@lclark.edu
While this implementation brings changes to our backend and workflow, you can continue to submit requests via email, phone, or by stopping at our friendly Service Desk between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday.
To address a security vulnerability, on October 24th, 2023 L&C’s Zoom instance will be set to a new minimum version requirement for all clients. Mac and Windows workstations need to update to Zoom 5.16.2 in order to continue joining and hosting meetings. Out of date Zoom applications will not be able to join L&C hosted meetings.
As part of our ongoing efforts to combat phishing attempts and email fraud, IT will be implementing DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) to protect our community from malicious activities. Former employee accounts to be deleted on July 15th, 2023. This account deletion includes any staff that separated from the college prior to July 15th, 2022. Professor Emeritus and Retired Employees are exempt from this account deletion and suspension.
Now is the time to make sure you have transferred Google Drive files to make sure you don’t lose access to files owned by former employees. Find specific information on the procedure IT takes towards removing these accounts as well as recommendations for supervisors in order to prevent data loss.
IT has rolled out Google Education Plus licenses to all LC staff and faculty. This upgrade will give Lewis & Clark an expanded set of security and protection tools, such as enhanced phishing detection and protection against malicious attachments.
The Information Technology department is happy to announce the availability of voicemail to email functionality on all three campuses. This technology will be activated for all LC staff and faculty beginning Monday, July 18th. Voicemail to email provides a convenient and easy way to stay on top of incoming phone messages.

We’ve already shared information on how to avoid data loss when former student and employee accounts are deleted. We are following up with specific information on the plan to remove these accounts.
Google Photos will be turned off for all Lewis & Clark accounts on July 1, 2022. The Google Photos application is not a core service covered by the Google for Education Workspace agreement with schools. In addition, Google Photos application poses a storage liability with the end of free unlimited storage for schools.
