Trip Sign-up begins: Friday, January 26th
Pre-trip meeting: Tuesday, February 13th at 5:00pm
Join chemistry professor Anne Bentley on a snowshoe trip to the ice caves on Mt. Adams! Snowshoe through beautiful evergreen forest to a lava tube cave that traps cold air and moisture to form breathtaking ice formations, including ice stalactites and columns. We’ll hike down into the heart of the ice cave and learn about ice crystal formation. Snowshoeing takes a fair amount of energy, but it is great exercise and doesn’t require any previous experience.
