Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Class Orientation
Date: 3:30pm - 5:30pm PST January 23 Location: Gregg Pavilion
MBSR is an 8-week program (8 weekly classes and an all-day retreat) which involves extensive training in mindfulness meditation, as the core of a program to teach people how to take better care of themselves and lead healthier lives. Mindful movement is also a part of the class. There is excellent evidence to support that mindfulness as taught in this program is positively associated with increased psychological well-being.
This is an opportunity for students to hear everything they need to know, and to ask any questions they may have, about the full 8-week MBSR class. Attending an orientation is a required step prior to taking the MBSR class. Students can attend an orientation without committing to taking the class. Students are asked to sign up for the orientation at https://tinyurl.com/y9rboeuk. There is a brief screening at the end of the orientation. The orientation date is: Tuesday Jan 23rd 3:30 – 5:30 pm in Gregg Pavilion.
MBSR Class Timings
The classes will run on Tuesdays, Jan 30th to Mar 20th, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm (and until 6 pm on Mar 20th), and the all-day mindfulness retreat will be Sunday, Mar 18th from 10 am to 5 pm.
