Date: 3:30pm - 5:00pm PDT April 23 Location: Council Chamber

Council Chamber

In light of recent attacks on the queer and trans community in the Portland area, various Lewis & Clark groups have come together to organize events addressing LGBTQIA+ safety. There will be two events hosted by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement, and the Queer Student Union.

The first event is a panel discussion with Portland community leaders:

  • Cameron Whitten, Executive Director, Q Center
  • Alexxis Woods, LGBTQ+ Coordinator, Bradley Angle
  • Jenn Burleton, Program Director, TransActive Gender Project
  • Capt. Stephanie Lourenco, Portland Police Bureau
    • PPB’s first openly trans captain

Attendees can submit questions in the RSVP box below or bring their phones to the event and text in questions to the moderators. There will be a student representative to serve as co-moderator, alongside Angela Gintz of IME. The second event will be Thursday April 25 and focus on student group discussion with plans for action.

Registration for this event is now closed.
