Passages: Zephyr Rapinchuk Celebration of Life

Friday, February 4th at 4:30 PM in Smith Hall there will be a
Celebration of Life for Zephyr Rapinchuk. Zephyr died tragically in a
skiing accident while with some friends at Jackson Hole,
Wyoming over the winter break. Zephyr was a freshman who had
completed his first semester at Lewis & Clark College.

At the request of some of Zephyr’s closest friends here at the College,
we are holding this memorial gathering on February 4th– what
would have been Zephyr’s 19th birthday. Liv Edens, Area Director for
Platt/Howard, Dean of the Chapel Mark Duntley, and Zephyr’s friends
have envisioned this memorial gathering as a relatively informal
sharing of food, music, and conversation. Plans also include showing
a DVD of photographs and memories that was part of the Celebration of
Life for Zephyr held in Charlemont near his home in Massachusetts.
There will also be an opportunity on Friday for some of
his friends and teachers from last semester to share thoughts and memories of Zephyr.
Zephyr’s parents and younger sister will not be able to attend Friday’s gathering, but
are grateful that we are holding this gathering to honor Zephyr.

Everyone is invited to attend this celebration of Zephyr’s life on
Friday at 4:30 PM. Please contact Mark Duntley (duntley@lclark.edu)
if you have any questions or would like additional information.
