Trio Win Alumni Scholarships

Each year, the Board of Alumni awards three $2,500 scholarships to undergraduate students who have demonstrated leadership, participated actively in the Lewis & Clark community, and exhibited the potential to be engaged, supportive alumni.

 

Each year, the Board of Alumni awards three $2,500 scholarships to undergraduate students who have demonstrated leadership, participated actively in the Lewis & Clark community, and exhibited the potential to be engaged, supportive alumni.

The 2007 Alumni Leadership Scholarship winners are:

Emily Henke CAS ‘09, who is majoring in Hispanic studies, works as an admissions intern and a Student Academic Affairs Board tutor. She also volunteers for the Student Labor Action Movement, the York Memorial Project, and the Skyline Holiday Gift Fund effort (to provide holiday gifts for Lewis & Clark’s housekeeping staff).

Vanessa Stine CAS ‘08, a sociology/anthropology major, participates in Amnesty International, the Gender Studies Symposium, KLC Radio, and the Human Rights Education Project. She plans to become a teacher.

Maile Speakman CAS ‘10 participates in Amnesty International, the Ray Warren Multicultural Symposium, and Spanish Club. She also teaches English to members of the College’s housekeeping staff. She plans to work in the social justice field after graduation.
