Farewell to David McKelvey and an invitation to wear your cowboy boots on Thursday, April 19

Greetings all,

Director of New Media David McKelvey has accepted a great offer from White Whale web developers to join their team as the product manager for the LiveWhale content management system.

Dave has done a great job these past 4.5 years giving us our current website and the infrastructure that supports it, and he led the way on the big improvements this past fall. We could go on and on about his accomplishments and contributions: the digital displays, the optimization of our Google results and search engine, the templates and designs for the myLC alumni community tool (which has now soft-launched), and more. Suffice it to say that he’s done a lot of good and he’ll be missed.

In lieu of a campus-wide party to convey congratulations, appreciation, and best wishes, Michel George and David decided we needed a cowboy boot day on campus and so we are inviting everyone to wear their cowboy boots to work on Thursday, April 19.
