Wall Street Journal highlights senior art exhibition
Open gallery
Renowned Wall Street Journal art critic Peter Plagens visited Portland and left impressed by the city’s burgeoning scene. Plagens was particularly taken with the Lewis & Clark senior art exhibition, which he called “the strongest undergraduate exhibition I’ve seen in a long time.”
Selected works from the show:
The Senior Art Exhibition ends Sunday, May 6; gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 503-768-7687 or visit the Hoffman Gallery’s website.
Plagans also highlighted 12128, a decommissioned crabbing boat that boasts a 30-square-foot on-deck exhibition space. The unusual gallery space, which Willamette Week called a “creative incubator,” is owned by Zoë Clark, Lewis Feuer, Kyle Thompson, and Caitlin Ducey—all members of the Class of 2009. Thompson is also an adjunct member of the Lewis & Clark chemistry faculty.
