Testing of the Carillon Campus Alert Speaker System

Testing of the Carillon Campus Alert Speaker System

On Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at 10 a.m., Lewis & Clark will conduct a short test of its new emergency messaging system. Over a several minute span, the Carillon Campus Alert Speaker System will be tested from several campus locations.

The testing will consist of three separate emergency alerts, all heard campus wide, from speakers mounted at the graduate school, the undergraduate campus, and the law school.

The test will feature a brief voice introduction, followed by campus alert tones, siren tones, and spoken messages that would alert community members in a true emergency situation. The test will conclude with a second brief voice message.

This test is the only realistic way to determine that the system functions correctly.

Community members are asked to bear with us and disregard the emergency messages directing them to seek shelter.

Thank you for your attention.
