1951

Donn Deal ’51 and his wife, Marlene, have relocated to St. George, Utah (about 125 miles north of Las Vegas), where they have built a home They say they love the area for its beauty and the recreational opportunities.

1953

Betty Jo Yaw Potter ’53 and her husband, Taylor, have moved from their Pennsylvania farm to Pasadena, California. In July 2004, the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their four children, including R. Lance Potter ’83, their children’s spouses, and their grandchildren. The group traveled by ferry from Bellingham, washington, to Sitka, Alaska, Betty Jo’s home before she attended Lewis & Clark.

50th “Golden” Reunion

John Bennett ’55 does Russian interpreting and translating. He also enjoys gardening, racquetball, and travel and family life with his grandchildren. Bennett plays the piano in Portland as well as up and down the West Coast and at dixieland jazz festivals.

Ronald “Ron” Clemenson ’55 retired from his job as a consultant at NW Natural in 1999, the same year his wife, Jan, retired from her job. Since then, the couple has been involved in a variety of activities, including those of their community association and church. Clemenson is a member of the class of 1955 reunion committee.

Catherine Eagle ’55 recently participated in a three-week tour of Italy, Greece, and Turkey with a group of about 28 Greeks and Lewis & Clark alumni.

1958

Carol O’Connor ’58 serves on the alumni board of the College of Arts and sciences and chairs the board’s volunteer/student committee.
