Pubcom Staff Members Collect Awards

Members of the Public Affairs and Communications staff recently won prestigious awards for the College home-page redesign and the Chronicle magazine.

On October 25, Emily Miller, web content producer/manager, collected an Award of Merit from the Portland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The award was for the redesign of the of the Lewis & Clark home page, which was launched last fall. The project received praise from the PRSA judges for, among other factors, its exciting visual elements and the smart use of statistics and strategy that went into its creation and content approach. Emily, one of several Pubcom staff members who worked on the project, prepared the winning contest entry.

Shelly Meyer, editor of the College’s Chronicle magazine, recently received a Bronze Beacon Award of Excellence from the Oregon/Columbia chapter of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). It was just the latest in a series of prizes won in recent years by the Chronicle, which circulates to roughly 40,000 alumni, parents, and friends of Lewis & Clark’s three schools.

Congratulations to Emily and Shelly, and all the other members of the Pubcom team who contributed to these award-winning efforts!
