Overseas Study Program in National Spotlight

For the first time, U.S. News & World Report has recognized Lewis & Clark’s overseas and off-campus program as one of the best in the nation.

For the first time, U.S. News & World Report has recognized Lewis & Clark’s over- seas and off-campus program as one of the best in the nation. The college also moved to number 70 in the U.S. News rankings—up five places in two years—and was ranked number 35 by high school counselors.

The 2013 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges issue recognizes “schools with outstanding examples of programs that education experts, including staff members of the Association of American Colleges and Universities, agree are key.” Lewis & Clark is the only school in the Pacific Northwest to make the 2013 study abroad list, which also features Dartmouth, Georgetown, and Stanford.

The overseas study program is one of the most distinguishing features of the college, attracting students from—and sending students to—every corner of the globe. More than 60 percent of Lewis & Clark students end up studying abroad, often in countries outside
of Western Europe.
