Enhance your credentials – workshop for faculty on working with the media, Mar. 19 - 20

Faculty invitation: Enhance your credentials – workshop on working with the media, Mar. 19 - 20

The media is constantly looking for good stories and “subject matter experts.” If you have a new book or study coming out, a class that is taking a new look or approach to a timely and interesting subject, or have expertise that could be shared during a particular news cycle, Public Affairs and Communications (PubCom) can help match you with the right media – locally, nationally and internationally – and ready you for interviews.

Colleges and universities are also working harder than ever to promote their stories and faculty as they compete for the best students and to build their reputations, so it’s in everyone’s best interest to collaborate.

Lee Weinstein ’81, one of the Portland area’s leading PR practitioners, former ASLC president, and a 15-year NIKE PR veteran, will lead an hour-long lunchtime conversation about what makes a good story, how to work with PubCom, the benefits and pitfalls of working with the media, and share examples of faculty doing it well.
