Improvements to The Source help streamline news, events, and classifieds

Recent improvements to The Source offer a streamlined look at news, events, and classifieds for faculty and staff.

Dear Source reader,

Recent improvements to The Source offer a streamlined look at news, events, and classifieds for faculty and staff.

News

Important Notices include news from the administration and important bulletins that affect an institution-wide audience.

Points of Pride features the inspiring energy and intellect of our students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

Events

A newly-designed calendar offers an at-a-glance look at campus events of interest to faculty and staff, as well as open-to-the-public events. Please visit The Source FAQ page to learn how to promote your event.

Classifieds

Links directly to The Green—a password-protected space for faculty, staff, and students to share new opportunities and create community. Anyone with an “@lclark” login can post information. This is our forum, like our own Craigslist!

Why the changes?

All of these changes were inspired by a year’s worth of information gathering from key audiences:

  • A survey of faculty and staff taken in October 2012
  • Additional key findings from faculty focus groups (recommended by President Glassner) in February 2013
  • The upcoming introduction of Workday in 2014
  • Crucial needs identified by the strategic plan

From reporting on board meetings to welcoming our newest colleagues, The Source strives to capture more than just campus news stories—it’s a narrative of the Lewis & Clark faculty and staff experience.

As always, you are invited to send all institution-wide announcements, events, and story ideas to: source@lclark.edu

Many thanks,
Vanessa Holmgren, Source editor
