For the second time, Lewis & Clark has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

The college is one of only 113 institutions in the country— and the only one in Oregon—earning the recognition of Honor Roll With Distinction for 2013. In 2010, Lewis & Clark was one of 511 institutions named to the honor roll.

The Community Service Honor Roll recognizes a college or university for its commitment to volunteering, service learning, and civic engagement. Lewis & Clark has made service a priority, creating the Center for Career and Community Engagement (3CE) to give undergraduate students the chance to engage, learn, and lead through ongoing and one-time service, immersion programs, and academic civic engagement. Also reflected in the honor are hours contributed to service in schools and mental health agencies by the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education & Counseling and the work of its new Community Counseling Center.
