Beware of “Upgrade Alert” Phishing Scam

phishing email is currently circulating around campus that attempts to compromise your account by requesting your username and password. The message reads as follows:

You have exceeded your mail.lclark.edu quota limit of 500MB and you need to expand the mail.lclark.edu quota before the next 48 hours. If you have not updated your mail.lclark.edu account in 2013, you must do it now. You can expand to 10GB mail.lclark.edu quota limit.

If you receive this message, mark it as spam or delete it immediately. Be suspicious of any message requesting information about your LC account or account credentials, and remember that IT will never ask you to share your password with us.
