Construction on the west side of the Sellwood Bridge is expected to add to traffic congestion on the bridge and Highway 43 at times this week and next between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Construction on the west side of the Sellwood Bridge is expected to add to traffic congestion on the bridge and Highway 43 at times this week and next between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

A contractor is removing foundations from the old bridge and concrete barriers on a closed section of the interchange as part of the work to replace the interchange.

The work will close the northbound slip lane of Highway 43 that travels under the bridge from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays this week and next.

All northbound traffic on Highway 43 will be routed through the interchange at the west end of the bridge.  Travelers may want to consider using alternate routes to avoid delays.
