Andrew Foote ’10 kicks off enthusiasm for Homecoming Weekend

Lewis & Clark College’s Homecoming Weekend offers a chance to celebrate the past and look forward to the future.

Lewis & Clark College’s Homecoming Weekend, October 23-25, offers a chance to celebrate the past and look forward to the future.

The Homecoming football game, between the Pioneers and the Crown College Storm, will take place Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m.

Although this year’s football team is 0-2, Oregonian reporter Mike Wilson recently noted an improvement in the team’s offense.

“We’re about four inches away from winning,” said senior economics major Andrew Foote. The Pioneers’ kicker, Foote excels both on and off the field. He is currently on the watch list for the Fred Mitchell Award, which includes 18 Division II and III collegiate place-kickers nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community. Foote was also just named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame William V. Campbell Trophy. Foote is a member of Lewis & Clark’s prestigious Dr. Robert B. Pamplin Jr. Society of Fellows.

In this video, Foote talks about the art of balancing his academic and athletic roles, and his appreciation for the support he gets from the Lewis & Clark community.
