Career Development Center named LGBTQ Certified Career Center

The Career Development Center is proud to be named to Out for Work’s list of Silver Level LGBTQ Certified Career Centers.

Lewis & Clark’s Career Development Center was just named a Silver Level LGBTQ Certified Career Center by Out for Work, a national organization based in Washington, D.C. dedicated to enhancing “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, transgender, and Queer specific resources in academic career centers across the United States.”

College and university career centers from around the country are scored based on accessibility of LGBTQ-specific career resources, collaboration with LGBTQ student groups, presence of extended confidentiality, level of staff training, institutional commitment to advocacy, and professional development opportunities for LGBTQ students.

Other Silver Level colleges include Allegheny College, American University, Barnard College, Drew University, Emerson College, Marquette University, Swarthmore College, and Vassar College.

The Career Development Center consulted with the Queer Resource Center and United Sexualities, two Lewis & Clark student organizations, to create a LGBTQ career resource page, and is excited to work on new initiatives in the future.
