This is a recording of the concert of composer Morten Lauridsen’s music that took place in Trinity Cathedral on November 9, 2013. Lewis & Clark’s Cappella Nova performs the “Mid-Winter Songs,” with LC music faculty member Stephanie Thompson on the wildly difficult piano part and conductor Katherine FitzGibbon (Department Chair of the Lewis & Clark Department of Music). LC’s Community Chorale performs “Lux Aeterna” with members of the Oregon Symphony conducted by Justin Smith. The recording concludes with “Sure on this Shining Night,” conducted by Katherine FitzGibbon and Lauridsen himself at the piano.
