IT advises caution before upgrading to Windows 10
July 30, 2015
As of Wednesday, July 29th, Microsoft has released Windows 10 for free to all current Windows users. As such, you could, and most likely will, receive notifications from the companies to update your Lewis & Clark computer to these new versions.
Information Technology requests that you please do not upgrade your computer until the Information Technology Operations team has had a chance to work with these new versions and validate them with our existing applications.
With past such releases, many people experienced significant issues that resulted in loss of productivity and created an unnecessary strain on our support resources. Please don’t let this happen to you.
Once we’ve verified all our software and services will work with the new operating systems, we will change our standard and then allow for the upgrades. We’ll update the community through a followup Source article.
If you wish to discuss this further, please email the Service Desk at email@example.com. Thank you!
