Career Preparation
The key outcomes of a liberal arts education—the ability to employ analytical reasoning, think critically and creatively, and collaborate across disciplines—allow Lewis & Clark students to pursue diverse career paths. To explore future job possibilities, over half of our students participate in internships. Our Career Center helps connect students to local, national, and international opportunities to learn more about the workplace and acquire invaluable experience.
This summer, over 30 students were able to work at places like Oregon Health & Science University, MusicfestNW, and CASA for Children thanks to the Stephanie Fowler and Irving Levin Internship Award, which provides money for living costs and related expenses, and the Miller Internship Award, which funds students engaged in scientific research in the mathematical and natural sciences.
“I have a real passion for working with kids and this nonprofit is the best way to serve children who aren’t necessarily dealt the best of cards,” said Natalee Cruz ’16, who spent her summer with CASA. “I think this internship will be a good way for me to find a job coming out of college.”
