Haley Blake just completed her Master of Studies (MSL) degree at Lewis & Clark Law School and landed her dream job working with the Nestucca, Neskowin & Sand Lake Watersheds Council. While at LC she worked on the Oregon Coast Coho Recovery Plan while externing with NOAA and the Wild Salmon Center.

Prior to coming to Lewis & Clark, Haley worked with the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Department as an Experimental Biological Aide. She helped communicate fishing and hunting policy & policy changes to natural resource users on the Oregon coast. She helped identify and respond to fish and wildlife violations, survey fisherman about their fishing trips, and interview hunters. Haley conducted salmon spawning ground surveys during this time as well. One summer Haley worked on a fishing troller out of Newport. Haley has been active with the Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society, serving as co-chair of its legislative committee.

The MSL degree at Lewis & Clark Law School is for those who have a bachelor’s degree and are interested in learning about environmental law, but who do not wish to practice law or obtain a law degree. Potential students include federal agency employees, teachers, elected officials, journalists, and people pursuing careers in lobbying or nonprofit organizations, as well as business people who want a better understanding of environmental regulations.
