New York Times quotes Mike Blumm in article on indictments against Cliven Bundy

New York Times quotes Professor Mike Blumm in article on the indictments against Cliven Bundy and others in 2014 standoff in Nevada.

Professor Mike Blumm, an expert in land use law, was quoted in a recent New York Times article about the indictments of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and four others who staged a standoff in 2014. That standoff later led to the militant occuption in eastern Oregon at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. The Malheur standoff was led by Cliven’s sons Aamon and Ryan. All the Bundys, and others who joined them in leading the occupations, are now in jail awaiting trial.

Professor Blumm states that the penalties facing Cliven Bundy mean that he could “very well spend the rest of his life in jail.” Blumm also says, “They think they are in some kind of holy war here — although they don’t have very much in common with the jihadists, they act like them”.
