College launches first-ever 24-hour Day of Giving: Tuesday, April 5

Lewis & Clark launches its first-ever Day of Giving at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, which includes special giving opportunities for the campus community.

Lewis & Clark is launching its first-ever Day of Giving at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, which will include special giving opportunities available to the campus community.

The fundraising event’s goal is to secure 1,000 gifts from alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff in 24 hours. When we reach this goal, we will secure an additional $100,000 match from generous donors.

Board of Trustees Chair Scott Dubchansky and Laurie Dubchansky; The Laycox Family; and the members of the Board of Alumni have generously agreed to sponsor the $100,000 challenge.

Match opportunities include:
  • President Barry Glassner has pledged $2,000 and Provost Jane Atkinson has pledged $1,000 in support of an institution-wide challenge. They will match every gift made by CAS, GSEC, and Law faculty or staff dollar for dollar, up to the combined total of $3,000. The money will support the annual fund of the donor’s school.
  • A pledge by Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Catherine Kodat of $1,000 to the Diversity and Inclusion Fund when 63 tenured or tenure-track faculty give.
  • A pledge by Dean of Students Anna Gonzalez of:
    • $500 to the Diversity and Inclusion Fund when 100 students give.
    • $500 to the International Friends Fund when 43 Student Life employees give.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I give?

Visit the Day of Giving page or stop by our tables on campus outside of Fields Dining Hall or  J.R. Howard Hall between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or Pamplin Athletic Center 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

If I make a recurring monthly gift will it count toward the gift total?

Yes. And, if you choose to make an additional gift, it will be counted a second time, helping us to reach our 1,000 gift goal.

Where does the money go?

To the CAS annual fund, unless otherwise specified. The annual fund allows us to support our areas of greatest need.

If I give to an area other than the CAS annual fund, will it count?

Any gift made by staff, faculty or students on April 5 will count toward the goal of 1,000 gifts.
