It appears that we are experiencing a toner cartridge sales scam on campus.
Last week, a member of the CAS faculty received a phone call from someone wanting to replace her printer toner, and then told her they would call back later to get her credit card information.
Please note: Credit card information should never be provided over the phone unless the L&C employee is the one who has initiated the call/transaction.
If you have fallen for this scam, please contact Purchasing Manager Moira Domann (503-768-7878 or domann@lclark.edu) or Staff Accountant Steve Kirkwood (503-768-7798 or kirkwood@lclark.edu).
If you receive a phone call telling you that your toner is ready, please tell the caller you did not order any toner and hang up.
If you receive a package you are not expecting: DO NOT OPEN THE BOX. You can then write “Refused” on the unopened package and return it through UPS with no consequences.
