Volunteer an Hour to Help Students Move Into Residence Halls: Aug. 24

New Student Orientation and CARE (Community and Recreation for Employees) have joined in partnership to offer you an opportunity to volunteer an hour of your time to help new students and their families move into the residence halls on Wednesday, August 24 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Dear LC Community:

New Student Orientation and CARE (Community and Recreation for Employees) have joined in partnership to offer you an opportunity to volunteer an hour of your time to help new students and their families move into the residence halls on Wednesday, August 24 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The majority of new students arrive between 8 a.m. and noon as they’re anxious to get their rooms set up, so we will be utilizing most volunteers during those hours.

Since this is the first day of New Student Orientation, we know that you will carefully consider your decision to participate while taking into account the needs and staffing of your particular office or area. Faculty and staff alike are encouraged and welcome to participate.

NOTE: If you are a non-exempt employee, you must obtain approval from your direct supervisor before completing the response form. Supervisor approval signifies you will be paid your normal wage during your hour of service.

In addition to the hour of volunteer service, there will also be a short orientation meeting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17 to familiarize you with the residence hall check-in process, your specific duties and hall assignment.

Those who sign up prior to August 11  will receive a FREE bright orange “CARE Crew” t-shirt. The response form is available here on the NSO webpage (click here)

We look forward to your participating in helping us welcome our new students.
