IT advises caution before upgrading to macOS Sierra
September 28, 2016
MacOS Sierra (10.12.x) was released on September 20, 2016. As with all operating system upgrades, there may be potential compatibility issues. At this time, we recommend against upgrading computers until Information Technology can complete testing of standard software and the vetting of the new Apple OS
We ask you to wait as there could be serious risks for early adopters. Specifically, L&C provided software may not work, and there’s no guarantee your computer will be able to connect to the network and other L&C services. If you upgrade without a working backup, you also risk losing data. Any of these issues could lead to a significant loss of productivity and create an unnecessary strain on our support resources. Please don’t let this happen to you.
Once we’ve verified all our software and services will work with the new operating system, we will change our recommendation. We’ll update the community through a followup Source article.
