Estate Garden Restoration - Phase 2

In an effort to revitalize the Estate Garden, we will be breaking ground on the remaining terrace lawns starting Monday, October 3rd.

In an effort to revitalize the Estate Garden, we will be breaking ground on the remaining terrace lawns starting Monday, October 3.  This project should be completed by Spring 2017.

This revitalization will restore the historic look to the gardens adding a lot of color and manageable sized plant material.  We will be keeping some of the large foundation rhododendrons and removing the misshapen and out of control plants.

We tested our concept on a section of the terrace lawns last spring and received good reviews on the results.

This project will install an automated zoned irrigation system that will help us conserve water and save the time spent setting hoses and sprinklers.

We will also be installing a ADA path/ramp to make this space accessible.

Partial funding for this project was made available by the generous donation from the Peter W. Stott Foundation.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Brad Ashwell, the Assistant Director of Grounds, at ext. 7848.
