Music Professor Receives National Recognition

Department Chair and Associate Professor of Music Michael Johanson is one of just two recipients selected for an Honorable Mention in the 2016 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Distinguished Composer of the Year Award for his work Three Moods for Viola and Piano.  

This national competition is open to composers who won the Music Teachers National Association Composer of the Year award from their respective states. Johanson’s composition won the state-wide competition this past year.
