Dear Colleagues,
With deep appreciation for who he was and all he has meant to this community, I write to inform you that Professor Emeritus Don Balmer died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday morning at Terwilliger Plaza. Our hearts go out to Betty and the entire Balmer family.
Here is a link to a wonderful Oregonian article about Don’s life and legacy.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 17 at 2 p.m. in Agnes Flanagan Chapel. The Balmer family suggests that remembrances be directed to Lewis & Clark College.
Sincerely,
David Ellis
Interim President
