Board Welcomes New Chair, New Members

Lewis & Clark’s Board of Trustees has elected Stephanie Fowler MA ’97 as board chair and Brent Hutchings BA ’84 and Craig MacLeod as new board members.

Stephanie Fowler MA '97 Stephanie Fowler MA ’97Stephanie Fowler MA ’97 is a retired broadcast and print journalist, as well as a licensed psychotherapist. She is currently a director of the Renaissance Foundation, a family foundation established with her husband, Irving Levin, to promote educational access, service to those in need, and environmental preservation. Fowler began her career as a broadcast journalist. She was a political reporter/analyst at KGW-TV and KOIN-TV in Portland and hosted a weekly public affairs program, Seven Days, on Oregon Public Broadcasting. She was also the first woman to serve on the Oregonian’s editorial board. Fowler and her husband live in Portland. She has four stepchildren.

Brent Hutchings BA '84 Brent Hutchings BA ’84Brent Hutchings BA ’84 is the majority owner and CEO of North River Boats, a manufacturer of recreational, commercial, and government boats in Roseburg, Oregon. He previously served as president and CEO of Pacific Coast Packaging Corporation. In 2006, he joined the board of Avamere, a regional senior care company; he served as its COO from 2007 to 2009. He currently serves on the advisory board for Lewis & Clark’s Center for Entrepreneurship. He and his wife, Chrys, have three children.

Craig MacLeod Craig MacLeodCraig MacLeod lives in Minneapolis, where he serves as lead trustee for a multigenerational family trust and as a board member and treasurer of a nonprofit that operates three farmers markets. He has 33 years’ experience in investment operations, investment systems, and financial analysis. MacLeod is the former COO and founding partner of a small registered investment advisor in the San Francisco area. Previously, he was with White Mountains Insurance Company, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, and Mobil Oil Company. He and his wife, Carrie, have four children, including Christopher MacLeod BA ’11.
